I can do squats, just not quite all the way down, almost though, thing is it doesn't do as much good as it should since I am missing a fair amount of leg lol.

I started doing different exercises at home. I also put sand in 2 gallon jugs adding more sand as my arms and legs got stronger and more fit. I also took walks,rode a bicycle,roller skated all over town, and swam. I did just about anything to challenge my physical abilities.
you can feel your muscles tighten during exercises so a coach isn't needed if you listen to your body. I was in the best shape of my life.
so if I'm guessing going to the gym is more of a social thing rather than to get in shape? -

my goal was to get in shape. It didn't bother me one bit to use gallon jugs of sand to do it. I was serious mission. lolz
but everyone is different and we don't all approach things in the same way.
