Most of the accusations are so old that the statute of limitations has run out.
While this does not forgive the sins and damage done to those involved, previous accusations have been acknowledged and changes have been put in place. What is the Church supposed to do...flagellate itself with every new accusation?

Many of the Priest accused are already dead according to the news, I think the most recent event (at least a couple days) was something like 35 years ago ago)

I have not read up on this like Lj, but it is sad.
I heard that the Cardinal over that arch diocese was involved in the cover up. The only person that can get rid of that cardinal is the Pope, I really thought he’d at least step up and do that. Then again, he may be waiting to read the whole report. The more this shit happens, the more it seems like the Vatican is a secret society.
I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic schools. Never heard of any weird goings on, but you don’t hear about it, especially back in my day. I still have my faith, but organized religion is really giving me second thoughts.

My jr high and high school gym teachers were butch lesbos.
I can’t imagine thinking, gee, I’m gonna be a coach, teacher, or priest so I can be a predator.
Now I’m gonna ask my son about his coaches for all his sports. He wrestled for 10 yrs.
