doesnt work that way
engines need the 'vapors' of gasoline to function...which ethanol doesnt have. to run an engine off straight ethanol it needs to be modified. timing. plugs. compression. etc. -

Methanol is a byproduct of distillation no matter how "properly" you do it. This is why the "heads" and "tails" are decanted and distilled again. The "hearts" is kept. -

The boiling point of ethanol or grain alcohol (C2H5OH) is 173.1 F (78.37 C).
Methanol (methyl alcohol, wood alcohol): 66°C or 151°F -
