The bank bailouts were a massive theft from the Irish working class directly to the jedis who ran finance capital.
Even today decent Irish people are suffering, with homes in negative equity and massive debt they can barely even service the interest of.

There.. that is your problem right there. You had inner city youths (which even most of them aren't totally bad people) who were black and the ones that caused trouble made the entire black youth stand out.
My girlfriends cousin lives in Queens now, he seems to love it there. things have mellowed out a bit since the years you grew up (im sure)
You didn't grow up in Astoria by chance or even Forest Hill? I hear that's more upscale. at least today it is.

the area of queens i lived in had exactly zero niggers in it. i wish i had pictures of the inside of my grandfathers house...it was ridiculous. it would be impossible nowadays to build the artistic plastering and medallions he had. the peeling lead paint...not so much.
nothing has mellowed out there...its only getting worse.
forest hill, no. astoria is over rated...it was never nice. there are some random mansions scattered about and a few apartment buildings that are actually camouflaged mansions, but other than that it was a borderline shithole.
