People like to take that and turn it into JOE ROGAN THINKS VEGANS ARE RETARDED!!! because people really, really hate nuance.
To that point, you absolutely do have to be careful and do it right, and doing it right actually takes some effort. The average nonvegan can pretty much live their life without paying too much attention to what they are eating, and in my experience, this is not good preparation for veganism.
A lot of vegans take it for granted that they're eating right just because they are eating vegan, and begin without preparation. Like he said, it's usually better than the garbage they were previously eating, but this can fool you into thinking that what you're doing is actually "good", and sadly it's usually not the case. You eventually reach a point where you are actually healthy-ish, but then those deficiencies in an improperly balanced vegan diet start to take you into the negative.
so are eggs considered vegan ??? -

It typically IS more expensive, but if you shop WISELY, it don't have to be. I mean, beans are inexpensive and so can be nuts if you eat them in serving sizes. I don't know if y'all have Kroger grocery stores in your area, but these stores offer such as buy 4 bags of vegan alt meats and get them for only $2.50each. Used to be $1.99 each. In some cases it still is, if you check weekly ads. But, what I'm saying is that it doesn't always have to cost more $. Just keep your shrewd eyes open, for sales n all, and actually it can be less expensive in the longrun.
A lot of the x for $x things at Kroger are actually the same price if you buy just one and use a Kroger card. I see some shits that are 10 for $10, but they're still just a dollar each if I only buy a few. -
