Southern Italians are much shorter in general and darker skinned. They also have more connections to Arabic people and similar.

i was all up and down the dalmatian coast in the 90s...along with italy. i heard it was a military reserves weapons dump. jesus fuck, that was fun times. i have a ton of 35mm film of that party. somewhere around i have a bunch of negatives of a little kid dragging a machine gun...i dont remember, i think it was a dshk...down the sidewalk and stopping every 20 feet or so because it was too heavy.

Yes, in the north (Trieste, Venezia, Udine) tend to be much taller, blonde etc. And of course there are also mixed with Slovenia, Croatia, Austria. In Center-South peple tend to be shorter and darker. The climate is different in the south also, much more warmer and the sea etc. But many in Sicily are blonde actually. White skin with blue eyes, cause of the Norman invasion back then.
And then there are the albanian origin, called Arberesh (not the new immigrants from Albania pos 90). These are the descendants of the Albanians who migrated to Italy, after the Ottoman conquests in 1500 circa.
