What are the chances I'm not gonna just fucking killself?

2018-06-04 at 3:13 PM UTCWhen you become suicidal and choose to die, nothing stops you.
When you become suicidal and are scared of death a fucking clover or breeze can stop you.
I have never met someone who actually wanted to die that did not die.
I know many people who were suicidal (including myself) who survived because of something simple or silly.
When I was 21 I was very addicted to drugs, super depressed and ready to die.
So I went outside and took an 1/8th or 3/16th inch braided rusted steel cabled and made a loop and secured the loop with fasteners.
Then I tossed it up over a tree branch.
I climbed up the tree a bit and stuck my head through and dropped.
My noose was never meant to tighten.
I wanted a slow painful death.
I hung there unable to breath.
I was chocking and my body was fighting.
It drove the rusty cable into my neck and pierced parts of my skin.
Then my buddy walked back and saw me dangling and turning purple.
He asked "WTF are you doing?"
I couldn't reply.
Then he said "I got some really good weed."
My eyes were popping out of my head and all I heard was weed.
So I reached up and with all the strength I had left I pulled myself up just enough to pop my head loose.
My hands were bleeding from the cable.
I fell to the ground.
I laid there trying to breath.
My neck bleeding.
He brings me a blunt.
I take a hit.
Choking and blowing snot out of my nose I got on all fours and he put his hand on my back.
He tells me "It will be okay. I have weed"
I take another hit.
A minute later the cops come and the fire department.
My neighbor had called 911 after seeing me in a tree.
I try to talk my way out but with rust and blood around my neck they were not buying it.
Hospital or jail they told me.
I chose hospital.
There I escaped and went home to smoke more pot and get drunk.
Took me several more months before I sought treatment for my addiction.
I wanted to die many many times but that is the most traumatic and close I ever came.
Sure I ODed a lot but this was me doing it under my own control.
It felt great having that control.
That power.
But...
I was selfish..
I did not think of the pain my family or friends would go through.
I have a daily reminder of my suicide attempt due to a pre-existing neck injury that it aggravated.
And last year on this very day,
I had to go to my best friends funeral.
He had shot himself in the head on May 26th out in the woods.
It took 5 days to find him and the heat, rain and animals had fucked his corpse up.
So he was cremated.
And his family never got closure.
No suicide note.
Nothing.
I never got to say goodbye.
I miss him so much.
It hurt so bad.
At first it was shock.
Then I was confused and upset.
After a couple days it turned to extreme anger and a feeling of abandonment.
I miss my best friend.
Suicide is no joke.
Please do not joke about it.
And if you ever do feel suicidal please call someone.
What do you have to lose?
Remember that whatever you are feeling WILL pass.

I always keep this card in my wallet.
I suffer from depression and delusions.
And who knows if I might find myself trying to help someone else and need it to give them.
I love you guys.
Please don't be selfish.
If you feel a certain way, just try to talk to someone.
And if it doesn't make it better then call someone else.
And someone else.
People do care.
I care.
Call me.
I love you guys. -
2018-06-04 at 3:16 PM UTCIf that card works I might try carrying a card around that says "you're very wealthy and lovable".

what is your trigger to suicide

Um how is it determined they were "perfectly sane" before jumping off a bridge…Do they have mental health professionals on the way down to give a quick evaluation…lololol
You don't need health professionals all the way down to understand it's not really mental illness in some cases. Have you been in war...same thing. Some soldiers will scream getting shot at and some will remain calm even if training is similar. Neither one is mentally ill...each person is triggered in a different way and yet both are not necessarily insane. A depressed feeling or fear does not consitute a mental illness...not even close. Totally different than a serial killer who murdered many and like a coward ends up shooting himself not to get caught. -

Well yes you do...otherwise it's an assumption they are perfectly sane...perfectly sane people don't kill themselves over money.

lololol depression most definitely IS a mental illness. -
2018-06-04 at 3:28 PM UTCWe weren't talking about everyone...just the teacher. I know he wasn't mentally ill and a momentary lapse in judgement doesn't make him one.

Is that your qualified opinion Doctor? lololol
Again sane people don't kill themselves on the spur of the moment...and mental illness (temporary insanity) can take over you at anytime...so unless you were there and qualified to evaluate him...all indications point to the guy was fucking nuts. -
2018-06-04 at 3:35 PM UTCMomentary depression is not RBD, Bipolarity or DSM-IV and ICD-10 since it does not exceed 14 days...pretty hard to claim this is 100% mental illness and to me it's not.

Um people can have all kinds of mental illness and be undiagnosed and or unknown to people around them...a sure fire indication that they do/DID have mental illness is having dinner with your family and then throwing yourself of a bridge lololol
"Perfectly sane" people don't do that... -

Actually, you made my point...temporary depression once doesn't make it an official mental illness if no insanity was present before or illness to trigger this. Perfectly sane people can be depressed and just because they have a moment of confusion does not mean they are mentally ill. I would go as far as also saying that many people who try to commit suicide are not mentally ill and once they start taking meds unnecessarily they do become mentally ill. The teacher is in a very small minority and many have committed suicide during a financial depression or war with no signs of mental illness. -

According to who?
The brain gets sick just like the body....a temporary illness of the body is still an illness, a cold for example. The brain can be temporarily sick too...it's still illness, mental illness.
Insert rotating eyes emote here.
oh and...ummm it's not temporary if you kill yourself...lololol
Your teacher friend was nuts when he killed himself...again perfectly sane people don't kill themselves over the loss of money or items which can be replaced. -

His brain wasn't sick and you making this claim makes me LMAO as you have no case. A motorcyclist travelling on a highway behind a truck after being a little depressed having had an argument with his GF sees the truck swirving ...the biker turns the wrong way and kills himself. Bad judgement...not suicide or mental illness. For all we know the teacher may have slipped or been pushed, which I always questioned. Enough to say it wasn't mental illness or similar and there was no previous problems to determine this. -

I made no diagnosis...just pointing out that you may be mentally ill. Just like you claiming the teacher was mentally ill...still you have no hard facts and can't prove it with any certainity. Bottom line all those who commit suicide are not mentally ill or even close.
