What (now dead) historical figure would you want to be friends with?

  1. #81
My top 5 (in no particular order) would probably be:

    Otto Von Bismarck
Probably the greatest political mind of all time, would be dope to talk about his opinions on shit going down and how he dissects particular situations

    Saladin
Underrated on the list of badasses in history, I think both his political and military ideas would be awesome to discuss.

    Mohammed
Pretty much just out of curiosity. I think a large part of why people like Mohammed can start and form religions is incredible charisma and a lot of people being caught up in their reputation and have some kind of "star struckedness". But more importantly, contrary to what Muslim traditions say, I think he was probably an incredibly brilliant and learned person. It's clear that the koran borrows extremely heavily from the Bible, but by all accounts he also echoed many philosophical ideas that wouldn't have been familiar to him if he wasn't at least somewhat scholarly (and remember, this is 600 AD, he didn't have wikipedia or the printing press or a kindle to gain knowledge, even getting your hands on a book from across the world was a tough task). I just want to see what the fuss was about. Plus, having been raised in a Muslim family, I have a personal curiosity about Mohammed beyond anyone else on this list.

    Khalid Bin Walid
Again, this is just pure fascination from my upbringing. He's considered to be one of the top 5 military minds to ever have lived (undefeated his entire military career) so it would be interesting to discuss stuff with him

    Nietzsche
    E D G Y B O I S
By all accounts he might have been one of the most intelligent people to ever have lived. I think he would be a top memer to talk to, would make for some great Snapchat stories.

Few of the cast members on SNL are jedi except Andy Sanberg and Adam Sandler and their Master Lorne Michaels.

Isaac Newton is my #1. He invented calculus on a dare from his friend, just imagine what kind of shit I could convince him to do.

Shakespeare would just be hilarious. I'd give anything to listen to that guy out of his mind on cocaine.

Happily there aren't very many jedis left in Germany, as they all moved to Israel after WW2.

I don't want any friends. People are fake. Notable people are fake too. The Beatles and John Lennon didn't change the world. their music worked for the times and seems to be enjoyable to this day, but staying in bed and blabbing about world issues with a camera on you and your wife isn't curing shit.

I kinda feel this way a lot. I have met a couple of people who I looked up to, and they're just shit-tier people in real life.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono were super annoying, and the guy who shot John Lennon (David Chapman) killed an awful attention vampire. It's interesting to note that he didn't know why he killed Lennon, but felt like he should. Perhaps he lacked the ability to express to others why Lennon was a threat, but felt it anyway.
