did you know evolution isn't a selective thing? evolution doesnt make any choices on its own, it can only be described in retrospect.
clearly all of these fag emotions are important but that's just the generic app roach. subdivisions of ethics as well as the ethics of being unethical have continued into the modern period because these strategies can work, if your other faculties are intact or even superior. the typical mating strategy doesn't mean it's the "superior" one, it just means its the default, as in most people would fail without it. exceptional people like myself dont need ethics to continue the lineage, and in day to day life it provides me advantages, because i can disregard others to further my own hedonism. also just because a behavior is the typical way currently, doesn't mean it will always be.
besides that, the concept of ethics can just be considered a vague sense of morality that even a mouse has, the philosophy of ethics which lanny is more interested in, is less about these primitive impulses (which you always try to use to support your reasoning), and more about psuedointellectual masturbation which lanny is deeply fluent in and has learned all of the lexicon of to pose arguments that are not genuinely arguments in any logical way

nitpicking small portions out of large responses to create a comeback is a critical sign of being destroyed in an argument btw

It's not about looking at things from someone else's viewpoint, it's about understanding where yours exists in the space of possible viewpoints.
so let me get this right .... philosophy is all about understanding where your outlook on life stands relative to other peoples' outlook on lives ???
hrm ... never thought of this this way.
i always thought philosophy is all about my outlook on life and a big fat period.

You can consider ending all life or as much of it as possible to be an ethical action.

can you imaging how big an effect the invention of the comb must have had on bald men? i mean we see constant changes in fashion and hair styles and shit but we're used to it. imagine living when the comb was suddenly invented? you'd go from everyone having wild wooly hair that had never been combed in their lifetime. to everyone walking round with nice straight hair and shit. before that men must have been glad when they went bald coz they were the smartest looking motherfuckers around. then the comb gets invented and practically overnight bald men are all like 'fuck, that's our time done then'. lol

they're not even having a convo on philosophy. just nattering about who or who isn't competent enough to have an opinion on the subject.
