Wow, Keywest is Far more Flamboyent than San Francisco.
As a matter of fact, the Castro District (The old Gay Capital) is being gentrified by computer techies and med students and Doctors. Many straight. it's now mixed gays and straights. most people in that district show up at the Rainbow Festival or LGBT(added letters) usually held around Delores Park and Castro Street.
But most people walking around you wouldn't be able to tell what sexual preference they want. fewer flamboyent Gays and more Business like people. You know they're gay if A: The few left flamboyent types walk around with like a cocksock on to shock people on the streets (someone who probably makes 6 figures a year and doesn't give fucks) or if they're holding hands. And I wonder even then if it's always gay people.
But in Florida.. they're fighting the redneck and hardline christian groups. It seems like they're fighting opression relating their lifestyle and so they're flare'n it a bit to get attention that they're not going anyways. Plus it's boating weather in Florida most of the time and these dudes seem to love to make out in the sun and play in the water. just like straight folks do.. which stimulates desires seeing everyone half naked in skimpy suits.
You're experiencing there what San Francisco's old stayed money conservatives experienced in the 60s and 70s. it will become the norm. You will adjust. or you will just end up running into the swamplands of northern florida.
