Usually just look through their English editions; sometimes in the case of a specific instance I can't find information on I'll run foreign news articles through Google Translator (and maybe another to make sure the translation's at least semi-accurate) but it's often more work making sense of Google's output than it would be to do the translation myself.
I'm not sure what's going on here - it seems suspicious that the Yemeni news sites are reporting that a general has appeared on TV stating that the missile was fired and struck its target but none publish his name.
If a missile was fired and struck a target in Abu Dhabi, it wouldn't easily be covered up - I've checked a few independent journalists in Yemen and none can verify, and I can't find any twitter users in Abu Dhabi who have reported seeing missiles or explosions.
On the other hand, though, if it was intercepted, there's no way KSA/UAE would keep quiet about it - they'd be bragging nonstop and Al-Jazeera would be claiming it was a MIRV that would've hit seven separate orphanages if not for the heroic anti-missile teams -

I couldn't be a regular journalist, the news agencies that pay well all have set agendas that run contrary to the things I'd want to write about. Maybe an independent journalist? That's not an easy life though, finding people to fund you going to warzones and such -

the thing i understand about news is that their usually made for either internal or external consumption.
so either that was meant for internal consumption or maybe that was from a shit-tier ''news'' site or click baits.

The US is going to have a problem if they actually launch a first strike. Not only is China holding war games close, Russia flew bombers over the Korean peninsula and both countries have their military deployed to the Best Korean border. Not only that, with all the artillery trained on Seoul the city will be reduced to a burning pile of ash together with it's 25 million inhabitants. Even if we don't give a shit about all the dead South Koreans it's still really bad optics for the US.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

yup. the Seoul issue is probably the only reason they've waited this long - launching an attack on NK is signing a death warrant for many in SK's major cities, not to mention US troops stationed in the country. The media seems to be trying to push such a move as 'necessary', minimising NK's military capability without bringing up possible (almost certain) mass casualties. The way that the media is pushing NK as an imminent threat is extremely worrying.
China has stated that they will back NK if NK is attacked first and I imagine China relishes the chance to put the South China Sea on lockdown.
Russia will likely stay back and support China without getting involved militarily. -

I think that if China puts the South China Sea on lockdown Japan will respond militarily as well. For now, Trump is tweeting about shutting down ALL TRADE from China. This will have significant effects domestically as well for teh US if it goes through and is not just more tough talk from born again neocon Trump. -
2017-09-04 at 5:59 AM UTCA conventional attack will result in huge civilian casualties, military losses and a quagmire worse than the middle east. The only feasible military option is a nuclear strike, and like IS has said before, that'll completely tear apart the concept of nuclear deterrence.
The only sane option is a diplomatic solution, but the US is unwilling to give anything at all and NK is unwilling to take them at their word. -

Japan isn't going to be a serious problem for China; they've only recently started building up their self-defence forces.
I'm not all that well informed in terms of economic interests, but if trade with China were cut, wouldn't it be the US that suffers more? China has all the mining and manufacturing facilities; sure sales would drop but it's the US that wouldn't have the goods required to sustain industry. -

China would be hit pretty heavy if we stopped buying their shit. The US accounts for like 20% of their export income iirc. There are entire towns based around this kind of shit. Saw a video of a town that exclusively dealt in pencil factories. I'm sure many of these towns would be wrecked if the US suddenly stopped trading with China. -
