Mind you, this is only 7-8 years after Nam. and many of my friends had brothers or fathers who served in vietnam.
Because of the 70s "Fuck War" attitude, most of my friends said "Fuck that" and never registered. I did. I told my Mom to imancipate me at 17 just a few days shy. I wanted the fuck out of my house because everyone was a fucking pothead (except my Mom) in that fucking house. and Join the Army or Navy. So I regged but never served nor called to draft. everything sort of mellowed out on Reagan (except grenada and that shit in under Momar Kadafi or however you spell that fuckers name) in Libia.
You get a lot of benefits . I would most likely have my own house now that I'm separated but all of that money will probably dry up. getting a loan with a cheap ass interest rate or auto insurance and some VA payout is better than nothing. -

These things can't be encouraged in society, there are far too many psychologically unstable who will fall for these things.
Society needs a strong moral backbone otherwise it will die out. -
