Making marijuana butter?

  1. #21
Hmm, maybe I could put my toaster oven outside, and make pot brownies in small batches in that?

If you can't stand the smell that badly use a friend's stove. Or, if you don't have a friend, you could buy some ozium spray. Look it up.

Actually, I think I'll just make the oil outside with my crock pot, then pack it into caplets. Ez to consume, no smell.

Oh, I know. They'll also execute you for a thousand other things that everyone else takes for granted.

Made it for the first time a while ago. I agree decarboxylation by baking is just unnecessary. The process was really simple, just melt the butter, add the weed, cook on low keeping it barely simmering for like 45 minutes, and strain into a container. Straining part is really important because your recipes will be dogshit if you leave plant fiber and shit in your butter. It will smell no matter what, presumably you're worried about people smelling it. Just turn on your hood fan, problem solved. I don't particularly like the smell of weed but the butter smells amazing after it resolidifies. The only remotely tricky part was not burning the butter. You basically have to stir it every few minutes of a long time.

I've had multiple people recommend coconut oil over butter, can't speak to it myself, kinda dgaf because the butter is plenty potent and is easier to work into recipies but I'll probably give it a shot one day..

Wouldn't you want to extract t3h w33d into a more stable medium? Fat oxidises and goes rancid over time. Surely you could do the same process with something like cooking oil? I've seen guides making use of glycerol which you can also use in baking.

Sheeit. Can you imagine cooking a nice steak with weed butter and garlic?

The way it's been explained to me is that the fat is what makes cannabutter work better than just dumping weed into recipes, I don't know if it's a chemical bond or what but it metabolizes differently.

    Use Coconut Oil.

I'm going with coconut oil. Apparently it gives the highest potency and is more stable too. I'm going to load it into gel caps with a syringe.

falcon, dont worry about the smell. open some windows, turn on fans, and light a candle if you want it to really clear out, but the first time you make something with an aromatic spice like curry or whatnot the smell will be all but gone

Or bake bread at the same time. The strong smell of the good bread will cancel out the pot smell.

I know from visit the houses of many stoner friends that that shit never goes away, it just moved to the back burner when your nostrils become accustomed to it, and smells like skunk ass, nothing smells filthier than fucking pot.

In fact I hate the aroma so much, I actually have a very hard time eating pot brownies or cookies, that's why I usually go for gummies (and I used to freeze those too, to make them more palatable/less directly stinky), and why I am opting for coconut oil capsules now. When I have a pot brownie or cookie in my mouth, the presence of the aroma makes me gag and retch like your mama deep throating a big nigger dick, I have to pinch my nose to down them.

Much as I love pot, the taste and smell is shit, fuck that noise.
