I just meant for the sake of cataloguing the malware. As I originally suggested, the pragmatic solution would be to just nuke the HDD.

Ho ho ho! This is why all security people are like YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM REEEEEEEEE!!!!

Recently i told one of them niggers: Yee, lets just release it under BH license so only the rich kids can afford to ransomware people. They were not pleased.

    Also...

    >based on open-source intelligence, NAYANA’s website runs on Linux kernel 2.6.24.2, which was compiled back in 2008.

Probably, but not out of any ethical concerns. I am not 31337 enough to just randomly hax someone's lunix in a targeted manner and ransomware them.

Oh I see. Definitely worthwhile since it appears new.

All you have to do is obtain one of those 0days that the FBI uses, before there is a patch for it, and get somebody to click on a link. You'd have to target the right browser, architecture, and OS, but there usually seems to be unpatched exploits for OS floating around.

Ok, now I'm actually sitting in front of the machine and all the icons are back to normal. What's odd about the whole thing is that the icon is from a game called H1Z1 King of The Kill which has been installed for quite some time.

Is it possible that this was nothing more than some type of Windows glitch? Multiple virus scans fail to show an infection, but that's not necessarily indicative of a clean system. As far as I can tell everything's performing as it should, which leads me to believe it was some erroneous bug that was corrected after being shut down and unplugged for an extended period.

So, do you niggas think we're in the clear or should I be worried that this thing is more cunning than I initially thought?

Just fucking wipe the thing to be safe.

Also, play H1Z1 with me faget

0days are expensive. And finding them requires some hardcore RevEng skills.

Boot into an antivirus environment and run all scans just to be sure.

might be wise to back up anything now while you still can, just as a precautionary.

altho that could also 'back up' the bug, but better than nothing.

looks like the H1Z1 icon somehow replaced that little arrow windows overlays on shortcuts. I don't even know how to do that so it was probably either corrupted registry or he did it following some guide and didn't realise

isnt that like a shortcut bent arrow on win icon ?
