$7.80 is a pre-covid wage. I doubt anyone is making that anywhere outside the actual third world. -

My old boss retired earlier in the year (well he's still being paid as a consultant for the next 2yrs) and sold the company to a $300 million "conglomerate". For now they left me running the Houston facility and have basically told me "business as usual, you're the expert on your business so do what you need to do".
Going from a 4 mil company to part of a 300 mil company obviously the cash flow and costs we incur are peanuts to them…they wouldn't care if I paid them $25hr.
until you realize the only reason the congromerate bought your company was to put it out of bussiness to eliminate competition. -

Fryer operators at fast food joints could be easily replaced by automated systems. Along with cashiers, stock boys, and a host of other mindless repetitive tasks. It's being done right now in California due to $20/hr minimum wage. -

Wrong...you obviously are not involved in the details...it's actually going to be expanding our business (and already has)..we are relocating to Kansas City int he new year...as soon as the facility we'll be in becomes available and ready to move in...(just waiting for the current tenants lease to end at the end of the year) they've already made me a GENEROUS offer to relocate there and run the place.
Stay in school kid and keep pulling that rickshaw. -
