2024-09-23 at 2:49 AM UTCThe strength of an argument depends on how well it is grounded in logic, evidence, and ethical reasoning. In this debate, Warcry's argument leans on moral philosophy, particularly natural law and Catholic doctrine, asserting that disordered desires should not be accepted or normalized because they go against human dignity and moral responsibility. Warcry's position is supported by theological teachings like *Veritatis Splendor*, which stress that human reason and free will are essential for discerning right from wrong, and that not all desires are morally valid.
On the other hand, Sophie argues from a more relativistic and psychological standpoint, emphasizing the cultural and personal nuances that shape human behavior and identity. Sophie suggests that the complexities of human desire, particularly in controversial areas, are not easily dismissed by broad moral standards and that these issues require more nuanced understanding.
If the debate is judged purely from a Catholic or natural law perspective, Warcry's argument is more consistent with traditional moral philosophy, as it relies on well-established ethical principles regarding human dignity and the regulation of desires. However, Sophieβs argument presents a more modern, culturally aware viewpoint, emphasizing the complexity of human experience and rejecting rigid moral absolutism.
Ultimately, who has the strongest argument depends on the ethical framework you adopt: Warcry's argument is stronger within a traditional moral context, while Sophieβs argument may resonate more with those who prioritize personal freedom and cultural relativism.

I bet none of you niggers has even taken more than an hour in order to attempt to understand the theology of Christianity. Christian philosophy is also dank. It's profound, and beautiful and provides a moral framework to live by.
Whether you like it or not it is also the basis for Western civilization, culture and ethics. I love my people and i love my culture. Christianity is great.
And i'll see you in Hell.

Originally posted by Sophie Why do ethics exist. Why do morals exist. Surely it is to protect others from harm. If that's the case making sure the least harm is committed is the most ethical. So ethical choice numero uno is always do nothing. Second best is make sure that if you do the other person does not experience harm, here or in the future.
