I've seen (unconfirmed) reports from Lebanese media that that particular shipment came from Jordan which makes a lot of sense

    How does this tie in?

This is why you should only use open source PBX based foip fax machines and build the logic boards yourself
  4. Originally posted by ner vegas maybe, you'd need custom firmware to have it trigger an explosive when a specific message is received rather than just whenever it beeps or vibrates, and that is difficult to do without the manufacturer's help.

    lol

you say it like its something very hard to do.

if they can hack apple and bypass their sophisticated security lock, modifying pagers with 0 security features will be as easy as molesting babies.

Apple probably helps them out a lot but a pager is basically a radio receiver. There are a lot more options for fucking with phones. A phone is also transmitting/communicating and has software that can be fucked with.

And the ones I've seen were just old Motorola pagers that probably use regular triple A batteries. But since it receives things and has lights and vibration that alert you to it, then in theory explosives can be wired to it.

It wasn't any kind of Chosen hacker magic or anything. Just traitors.

it doesnt take much high ex to cause incapacitating injuries. just a few grams of rdx or what else modern stuff they got can easily injure a woukd be combatant especially xonsidering people put pagers near their intimate parts.

a little pop would put them out of action and combat ineffective.
  7. also this means an invasion is imminent.
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

I thought you were saying you thought it was lithium which is bs. I'm sure viruses could overheat the battery of a phone but a phone battery exploding isn't life threatening. I used to sometimes burn them whenever I was done using them. And since they're pagers I'm wondering how they even expect people to believe that lithium batteries were the issue.

at this point they no longer care what people thinks.

the charge was set off to injure and reduce the number of potential combatant for the on coming invasion.
  10. Overcharged lithium-ion batteries can experience thermal runaway that can cause spontaneous combustion or an explosion. By measuring the heat release rate, surface temperature, flame temperature, positive and negative electrode temperature and mass loss of 18650 NCM lithium-ion battery, the combustion and explosion characteristics of lithium-ion battery under different current rates were analyzed. The results show that the 18650 lithium-ion battery undergoes two thermal runaway behaviors when overcharge at a high current rate. The first thermal runaway leads to a continuous explosion reaction, while the second thermal runaway has a combustion and explosion reaction that is more violent than the first thermal runaway. As the current rate increases from 1 C to 3 C, the time for the first thermal runaway to occur decreases from 1554 to 360 s, the time for the second thermal runaway to occur decreases from 2515 to 522 s, and the explosive response becomes more violent.

    Nice copy paste.

Is this unequivocally the same battery that is used in the pagers mentioned above?
  12. In a battery, the charge separation that gives rise to a potential difference (voltage) between the terminals is accomplished by chemical reactions at the electrodes that convert chemical potential energy into electromagnetic potential energy. A voltaic cell can be thought of as having a "charge pump" of atomic dimensions at each electrode, that is: A (chemical) source of emf can be thought of as a kind of charge pump that acts to move positive charges from a point of low potential through its interior to a point of high potential. By chemical, mechanical or other means, the source of emf performs work on that charge to move it to the high-potential terminal. The emf of the source is defined as the work done per charge.

rewriting or patching closed-source firmware IS objectively a very difficult thing to do

  17. PETN can be initiated by a laser. A pulse with duration of 25 nanoseconds and 0.5–4.2 joules of energy from a Q-switched ruby laser can initiate detonation of a PETN surface coated with a 100 nm thick aluminum layer in less than half of a microsecond.

Hez says they discovered the explosives in one of the new pagers, which forced israel to trigger the attack before they were ready to follow up with the invasion. if true they burned this attack vector; Hez and other groups will be much more careful with physical hardware in the future and will be vetting supply chains very closely.

I'm inclined to believe it, the best time to attack would've been during the panic.

so far there are around 4,000 reported injured and 8 dead.

my question is how many of them were children? No way this was a clean hit I bet at least one went off on a baby

at least one 10 year old died from being at neck level when it went off

probably won't get accurate casualty numbers for a few days given how slammed the hospitals are but secondary stuff like car crashes from explosions in the car, or guys getting popped while operating machines and stuff like that will blow up secondary deaths too
