i do this too...but i dont know how. if i have to be up at xxxx-time, which is earlier than my normal wake-up time, i set my alarm, but i still automatically wake up before the alarm goes off. examples are a few months ago i had to be up at 4am, which is 3 or 4 hours earlier than i usually get up, to catch a flight and somehow i woke up before that...which i never do.

like during the weekend if i think to myself that i have to be up at xxxx-time to do something in particular, i will wake up...but if i know i can sleep in, i do.

So, when are we going to talk about the expansion of sleeping gas in a vacuum?

yeh I do that, but its not because I have a conscious thought in my sleep that I should now wake. I might have that thought while I'm half awake, but then I'm technically conscious already, not in deep sleep state. fact is if you are tired you will continue to sleep unless something disturbs you, and during a sleep state there is nothing in your consciousness that will cause you to wake yourself.

no, you fucking idiot...i am literally thinking to myself if i want to wake up, or not. the other night i was having some stupid ass dream where i turned into tree...and people i knew were looking for me but didnt see 'me' because i was a tree. i specifically recall being pissed off and thinking if i should wake up to make the annoying-ness stop.

another example...i had a dream where i wrecked my car and was thinking if i should wake up. i thought 'nah...its only a dream'

    You have really boring dreams.

I can do that, too. If I want to fly, I can tell myself in the dream to fly, and I do, knowing it's a dream.
  15. mashlehash victim of incest [my perspicuously dependant flavourlessness]
    Yes, these things are possible.

speaking of dreams...im semi-conducting an almost accidental experiment with dreaming. the other night when this conversation started i just happened to have eaten ice cream right before bed time. for the last three nights, tonight being the fourth, ive eaten a quart of ice cream and every time my dreams were more vivid, lasted longer, and i had better recollection of them.

Cheese seems to induce vivid dreaming in a lot of people, it might extend to other dairy to a lesser extent
