the new generation of 12V peltier that comes out of china WILL freeze water and boil it on the other side, depending on your power setting.
but once they go over 100°C they are damaged. -

the edge of the hole doesnt look like its been torn or ripped in by s projectile,
it looks more like its been melted out. its what a hole on a piece of metal would look like if you burn it with a blowtorch. -
