    I used to dislike anime because all the fans were edgy dorks online, so I know how you feel. But I always thought it was a thing that only men watched but apparently there's also women that like it as well. I was studying applied data science last year and a girl in my class who looked like she would make fun of men that make anime because she looks like your average hot girl (I wasn't attracted to her, but objectively she was) was someone who watched anime herself. Surprised me.

I feel like a bit of an ass saying that, there are plenty of weird socially awkward dudes who are into anime for sure, but I think because it’s an area that’s so… not hostile to women but… just not a super comfortable space for women to be in by normal standards, the women you do find there have a tendency to be a cut above on the crazy spectrum.

    They're not much different from movies. It's a fact that men are less inclined to read books written by women. Women are less childish about it, they're only saddened by it. It's like something you expect so you tune it out.
