The covenant? That was God's promise to send Christ to fulfill the law and deliver the jedi people. At no point in time were they ever expected to produce a messiah. -
2017-06-15 at 5:06 AM UTCThe Covenant was a contract between the Israelites and God, which contained the laws they would need to obey in order to honor the contract.

2017-06-15 at 5:21 AM UTCYes, but this is not supported:
Originally posted by -SpectraL Once the contract was nullified by their wicked deeds and inadherence to the conditions set out in the Covenant, the Mosaic Law became null and void as well.
The law has never been nullified. That's why for non-Messianic jedis, it's rather interesting they don't still offer blood sacrifices as they should. -

Yes, it was nullified. When you break a contract you made with someone, that someone can legally trash the deal. That's what happened between God and the jedis. They were his chosen people, and they had a business relationship with God, but they became wicked, and therefore that relationship was broken. -

how you know a messiah/jesus actually existed tho, and wasn't just a fraud, like some kind of dark age david Koresh?

Because there are actual historical records, from actual historians of the day, who chronicle his life and deeds. Not just one, but several historians. His life story has already been thoroughly corroborated. Of course, if you are dead set on not assigning any value to that fact, there's not much anyone could say which could convince you otherwise. -
2017-06-15 at 2:48 PM UTCa man made record isn't proof of anything. look at wikileaks for example, many documents there reveal proper official documents to be false. you should know this simple fact.
and then lets assume that the ancient records were not bullshit. how do the record makers know that jesus was really the messiah and not just a really convincing nutjob?
. -
2017-06-15 at 2:49 PM UTCWell, not exactly "of the day" but there is a consensus of historians on the existence of a historical Christ.

The only reason miracle exists is for that very purpose. Miracles exist to prove beyond all doubt that the person is from God. If not for the miracles, no one would be able to truly believe and have genuine faith. Jesus' miracles have been heavily reported on by various historians who were there, on the scene, and so there can be no doubt Jesus is from God. Witnesses reported Jesus was able to raise the dead, cure the terminally and chronically ill, make fishes and loaves appear out of thin air, walk on water, tell the future, and many other feats which would be impossible if he were just a normal man. The miracles are a promise, an assurance, of what is to come at the end of this wicked system of things. And they are also a guarantee of legitimacy. -

Mathew, Mark, Luke and John lived in Jesus' day, and they recorded the events of his life. That makes them kind of amateur historians. The letters they wrote to the congregations became the official record of Jesus as well. -

There are literally no mentions of Jesus at that time. None. -

making loaves and fishes appear is a cheap magicians trick. curing illness, well if that makes you a messiah then this guy is a messiah also, you must agree.

as for raising the dead, and rising from the dead himself, even as recently as within the past 100 years people have been wrongfully pronounced dead by physicians, only to later find scratches on the inside of the coffins. there is no way in jesus' times anybody could have absolutely been able to say that Christ or his 'patients' were actually dead in the first place. they could well have been comatose(or drugged). or he did like that^ guy and paid some hobo's to act.

The gospel of Matthew was written 90 years after Christ's supposed death. 90 years.
Herod, a confirmed historical person, supposedly killed a whole generation of boys that would surely affect the area in a major way and is probably worth writing down but nope. No mention until 400 years after it suppedly happened and even that has to be interpreted in that way so yea.... -

Matthew's gospel itself was written in Hebrew or Aramaic by the apostle Matthew and later translated into Greek. -
