The Prime Minister of Israel wants to be like Churchill, but the more he tries, the more the likeness eludes him. In this case he is not alone. The war drums rising from the cabinet room reveal a lack of knowledge of what Churchill demonstrated during the terrible war years. Restraint is not defeat. The gift is not the bride. Patience is not a sign of weakness.

Meanwhile, that's not the wind there. A source very familiar with the marathon meetings that took place this week in a series of secret discussion rooms, above and below ground, says that "if they had filmed it and broadcast it on YouTube, today there would be four million people in Israel trying to find a way to escape from here."
Tonight, the Iranian response to the Israeli assassination of the senior general in Damascus was launched. And if Israel responds, it will respond to strategic targets in the heart of Tehran and perhaps in other cities.
The 4 million quote is interesting. The author is Ronen Bergman, author of Rise and Kill First, a history of Israel's state murder program. -

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shelved plans that had been prepared for retaliation against Iran’s weekend barrage after speaking with US President Joe Biden immediately following the attack, Israeli television reported Wednesday.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/pm-shelved-pre-approved-plans-for-immediate-iran-reprisal-after-biden-call-report/
According to the Kan public broadcaster, the cabinet had already approved a series of possible responses depending on the scope of the Iranian attack, which were slated to be carried out immediately following the Iranian fusillade early Sunday.
“The response won’t be what was planned any longer; diplomatic sensitivities won out,” a senior source was quoted telling the broadcaster. “There will be a response, but it seems it will be different from what was planned.”

my belief is that it's all theatre
there's no way they attacked an embassy in another country (sanctity of diplomatic compounds being the core of modern diplomacy) without knowing there would be a severe response, so it stands to reason that the attack was conducted specifically TO incite a response. they planned all this beforehand and claiming their plans have now changed is probably a lie to further some political goal.
they've recently gone on and said they'd push Rafah in response to Iran's attack instead of attacking Iran directly, but they've been alternately threatening to push Rafah and South Lebanon for months now, the reality is though that they're low enough on manpower that a major ground operation in either direction is probably impossible. -

Saying What Can't Be Said: Israel Has Been Defeated – a Total Defeat
https://archive.is/JhcEo
Chaim Levinson
Haaretz
We've lost. Truth must be told. The inability to admit it encapsulates everything you need to know about Israel's individual and mass psychology.
…
Some of us maliciously lie. Others innocently.
…
we're being held hostage by the worst leadership in the country's history – and a decent contender for the title of worst leadership anywhere, ever. Every military undertaking is supposed to have a diplomatic exit – the military action should lead to a better diplomatic reality. Israel has no diplomatic exit.
It has a scoundrel for a leader, someone with no capacity for leadership or decision-making, a person who loses his sense of good judgment over a free cigar. Yet the electorate put its faith in the current prime minister to the tune of 32 Knesset seats.
…
We can't say it, but we've lost. People have an inclination to believe in the best and be optimistic, hoping that tomorrow will be okay, that we are in a process that in the end will be more successful. That's the most fundamental failure of human thought: the notion that the direction we are taking is a good one, that we just need to get there already – that in just a little more time, with a little more effort, the hostages will be returned, Hamas will surrender and Yahya Sinwar will be killed. After all, we're the good guys, and good will triumph.
It's the same mentality that leads to the notion that "the Iranian regime will soon implode" and other notions that have more to do with Hollywood scripts than life itself. They're not the truth and it relates to something that's uncomfortable. After all, it's uncomfortable telling the public the truth.
…
It's unpleasant to say, but we may not be able to safety return to Israel's northern border, to what had been before. Hezbollah has changed that equation, to its own benefit. That's the situation.
…
No cabinet minister will restore our sense of personal security. Every Iranian threat will make us tremble. Our international standing was dealt a beating. Our leadership's weakness was revealed to the outside. For years we managed to fool them into thinking we were a strong country, a wise people and a powerful army. In truth, we're a shtetl with an air force, and that's on the condition that its awakened in time.
…
The more the mouthpieces shout that "we're winning," the clearer it is that we're losing. Lying is their craft. We need to get used to that. Life is less secure than before October 7. The beating we took will sting for years to come. The international ostracism won't go away. And, of course, the dead won't be coming back. Nor will many of the hostages.
For some of us, life will get back on track, with the petrifying fear of an imminent repeat. And for some of us, life won't get back on track. Those people will walk among us like the living dead. That's what we voted for. That's how it is. We need to get used to the sad reality in our homeland.
Bibi works with us anti-Semites, he's on our side. -

or,
or as occams shaver would suggest, they blew up iranian embassy thinking iran wouldnt dare to respond as a message to houties and hezzbollahs and lost the bet.
its silly to think and believe israel have any qualm about "diplomatic sanctity" of other country after bombing 30+k women and beautiful children.
like why would they bother with such nuanced .... custom. -

You have to take into account the entirety of juden history. They've behaved the exact same way overall since abram was booted out of babylon.
You have to ask yourself...why did the romans and babylonians wipe out judenkind from ancient judea, level their one true temple, then enslave the rest of them? Because the dumb kikes are inherent victims and psychologically create the self fulfilling prophecy of pissing everyone else off to the point they are obviously going to react with a boot to the face and an ICBM to the colon. -

a lot of the palestinian "sufferings" are bullshits tho.
remember how they were claiming many kids were starving and dying of hunger ?
then they reported that a few kids were shot for throwing fireworks at IDF ?
yea, starving kids with no crackers to eat so they had resort to throwing fire crackers instead,
very convimcing. -

Reality is I don't know what is happening in Gaza right now. The jedis seem to be squeezing it like toothpaste, but it's going slow. -
2024-04-19 at 5:04 PM UTCbit of clarification on what's happening right now because it's obviously intentionally unclear.
1. various news sites are claiming that israel has attacked Iran in the Isfahan and Tabriz regions. mostly israeli news is claiming strikes on Iran and other western sources are repeating them uncritically.
2. several of these articles have included media, all of which have been either old footage, footage of Hezbullah missile strikes on israel, or explosions in Ukraine.
3. Iran has reported that there was an attack using small quadcopters, but that they were launched by infiltrators from within Iranian territory and were mostly intercepted or disabled (Iranian military reports 'minor material damage').
4. there have been israeli strikes on Iraqi (unconfirmed) and Syrian (confirmed) territory, and even ostensibly anti-israeli media (RT, TASS, Al-Mayadeen) seems to have conflated these with unconfirmed attacks on Iran, intentionally or not.
5. air-to-surface missile boosters have been found near the Iraq-Iran border. some observers suggest that the boosters were dropped to intentionally 'fake' an attack on Iran, but it seems more likely to me that the missile boosters had been there a while and were only discovered due to everyone in the region being on high alert.
6. israeli media is still pushing the 'we intercepted 99% of missiles' meme, but they're now claiming that the Dimona nuclear reactor was targeted. at best, this is to push the narrative that the Iranian strike was not limited and that they were going all-out in an attempt to save face, at worst it's a pretext for israel to attack Iran's nuclear facilities and/or to justify the use of nuclear weapons. -
