    Or should I say, Watergate Pie. The history goes deep, lets just say the Watergate salad is the ONLY green loose non mould jello salad that has EVER existed. Do not believe anyone that says lime and marshmallow go together, that's not history, that goes against all my research. If anyone ever made this in your family, then they fucked up and you should be ashamed. I bet everyone HATED them!

    The Jell-O company started selling its pistachio pudding mix in 1976, amidst a trend in American cuisine whereby people created salad dishes containing ingredients such as Cool Whip, nuts, pineapple, and pudding. General Foods, then owner of the Jell-O brand, published a recipe for "Pistachio Pineapple Delight" that would later become Watergate salad. Two Watergate-related cookbooks were published in 1973: The Watergate Cook (Or, Who's in the Soup?) by The Committee to Write the Cookbook and The Watergate Cookbook. The latter book featured "unimpeachable recipes" all containing pistachio gelatin, such as a "Watergate Cake with Cover-Up Icing", which became popular after being disseminated by media outlet

    Comrade Lanny's Revolutionary Panna Cotta
    Ingredients:
    1 cup of whole milk (or substitute with your preferred milk)
    1.3 tablespoons of gelatin
    1/4 cup of almond cream
    Pinch of salt
    Sugar or honey (adjust to desired sweetness)
    Raspberries (for garnish)


    Instructions:
    In a bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the milk and let it sit for a few minutes to bloom.
    In a saucepan, gently warm the almond cream, salt, and sugar or honey, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
    Add the gelatin-milk mixture to the warmed almond cream, stirring until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
    Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
    Pour the mixture into individual serving glasses or molds.
    Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
    Before serving, garnish with fresh raspberries or your choice of toppings.
    Note: Feel free to adjust the sugar level according to your preference, as Lannyism encourages flexibility and individual taste.

    DIY Shamrock Shake recipes are making the rounds on the foodie-interwebs this Saint Patrick’s Day season. And what could be better than NOT going to McDonald’s and instead making your own minty green treat at home?? Making your own minty green treat at home, adding some booze and gelatin to the mix, and turning out some amazing jello shots! Vanilla ice cream, milk, a hint of mint, and whisky make these shamrock shaped shots (say that 3 times fast) special. Not into whisky? Vodka will do, as will peppermint schnapps (leave out the mint extract). Go nuts, and have a happy St. Patrick’s day!

    4 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
    1 3/4 cups cold milk
    1 cup sugar
    2 cups (1 pint) vanilla ice cream, softened
    3/4 cup whisky
    1/4 tablespoon mint extract
    4 drops of green food coloring
    Whipped topping and green sugar for garnish

    Pour the cold milk into a medium saucepan and sprinkle the gelatin on top. Allow the gelatin to soak for 2-3 minutes, then begin to heat on low, stirring constantly until gelatin is fully dissolved (about 5 minutes). Stir in sugar until fully dissolved.Remove saucepan from heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Whisk in ice cream and whisky. Stir in mint extract and food coloring.

    Shamrock Shake Shots 2

    Pour the mixture into a 13×19 or equivalent sized pan. Refrigerate overnight until firm.

    Dip the pan in warm (not hot) for 15 seconds to loosen he gelatin. Use mini shamrock shaped cookie cutter to cut out the shapes. Garnish with green sugar and whipped topping and serve.
