    Well I have some experience at sea, I know how to navigate a ship and how sailer lingo (IE starboard, port, etc.)
    
    I live in Illinois though So I'd have to move to someplace like Cali or the Florida Keys, which i'm not too keen on.

    no no, they contract you, so you will just fly/drive etc to the location they pick you up at, you stay on the ship for 6-1yr then come home and then re-contract. so you dont need to move
