Originally posted by ner vegas unsurprising, I very much doubt it's been Ukrainians controlling modern NATO gear like the PATRIOT batteries, radars and anti-artillery complexes I forget the name of.
it came out recently that the Ukrainian SAM crew that shot down a plane full of their own prisoners was pressured to shoot the plane down immediately rather than confirm with command by British 'advisors'.
and I still think it's likely that it was a NATO crew that killed the MOSKVA with Norwegian NSMs.
Scholz was discussing giving the Ukrainians German Taurus cruise missiles, and said that if they did then German troops would have to go to Ukraine, the same way that French and English troops are needed to launch SCAPL-EG and Storm Shadow cruise missiles there.

They're freaking out about him being such a clutz and admitting it.
Really, the Russians should be reaching for the nukes at this stage. There is no reason not to be. -

not at all.
all these are controlled apology, including the See Eye Air "leaks" a few days ago admiting that they were infact funding and asssisting the SBU and buikding dozens of intel collection points along russian border.
putin said it during the tucker carlson interview, they (NATO) made this mistake and they have to correct it.
the first step to correcting mistakes is to admit it and these are the first few steps. -

thermal/IR sensors pick up the heat regardless. that is why that pot is burning behind the tank...the heat sensor picks it up and explodes far enough away from the tank that the armor can protect it. shaped charges are completely shit if they detonate outside of a very, very, VERY narrow standoff distance. -

but the hard part of the armor is at the front. -

2024-03-01 at 3:44 AM UTCwhat do the bars do that surround the tank's body? Surely that doesn't provide like increased defense? Kinda curious
also this thread has been really educational for me throughout the war, I especially like the mean spirited/internet user base like DT and aldra's opinions throughout this. -

most HEAT missiles work by having a fuze in the nose, when it hits armor it doesn't so much explode as it blasts a jet of plasma that cuts a hole into the steel. if you put a cage up, best case the missile tip catches between the slats and it doesn't go off, worst case the jet of plasma starts like a foot away from the armor so it doesn't penetrate so much
the 'cuck cages' on the top are to catch grenades that are dropped by drones from above so they explode further away from the armor -
2024-03-01 at 3:55 AM UTCseems like a lot of work just to have a tomahawk remove them from service with one good strike.
I kinda hope America gets into another war soon so I can see how all the new shit works that we've been perfecting/secretly working on -
2024-03-01 at 3:57 AM UTCSeems like a lot of work when they could just use engine coolant

They're not going to use a tomahawk to kill a tank -

Shaped charges have to be in a specific, tiny window of distance from a target based on the size of the warhead where if the detonation is outside that window the 'jet' is either not formed (too close) or dissipates (too far away)
Tandem charges are even more sensitive
