its 5160...which is cheap-ish, but strong for a blade.
i wouldnt consider it entirely 'fantasy' since, based on online videos, its more than capable of functioning in a combat or utility role. im not planning on using it to chop down trees or shoot at it, but in the event i decide to use it as a machete for chopping or as a thrusting/stabbing role, the steel is more than capable of withstanding it. and most important for my needs...it has a generous guard at the front for preventing my hand from slipping forward in a stab.
and...the copper acid wash looks 'cool' -

i learned at a young age that you get what you pay for when it comes to blades. when i was a wee lad i would collect them...but with a teenagers salary the best i could afford was stain-less steel junk. needless to say...they didnt last long simply due to the high humidity of florida. i had a pair of 'real' blades made by cold-steel that a piece of shit cop stole from me then denied it.
the cheapest blade i currently have for functionality, that i purchased myself, is a 'toy' that i use in sex games...a 'provoke.' Ironically it works really well for opening boxes. then i have a 'jumpmaster 2' but other than that i dont have much use for anything that isnt a boxcutter or utility knife...which i use almost literally every day for precision cutting things, opening boxes or tape, etc.
i have countless shit-tier toys that are assorted degrees of useless for anything other than as show pieces or for my girl whos into knife play. -
