   The Yanks are putting troops on Kinmen Island, which I never heard of. Apparently it's 2km from Chiner, and technically belongs to Taiwan. They'll be tripwire forces, meaning their job will be to die and provide an excuse for escalation if China invades.

   in a real war those ships would be one-and-done. it is excruciatingly easy to put a port facility capable of rearming those VLS systems out of business. the cranes they use are like tin foil...even a small fragmentation bomb would take it out completely. hell, a saboteur with even a slight degree of motivation and a hammer could probably do more damage than a bomb.
   
   the VLS tubes are designed to function in a purely peaceful environment.
