    that kind of stuff should be released regularly and we should have an active development against it.

    Energy grids are a dumb idea, they should also be decentralized. One day a western country will get fucked and people will have to change every aspect of their lives and get new sockets and plugs for everything because people are too complacent now

    EMP has a much wider range but it can be blocked by shielding, faraday cages, solid copper etc.

    this stuff is meant to be used on power stations and switching equipment, you can't really do anything to stop it

    The threads are to create a circuit to short out a live electric path. They're literally chaff...but instead of aluminum they're a more conductive strand to create a short circuit.

    First part...correct.

    Second part...the most damaging would be a high altitude nuke designed with an enhanced EMP effect

    There are other EMP generator bombs that are more localized effect

    There are also EMP generators that are electric...basically microwave ovens on steroids

    Things now are more emp resistant overall. Especially if someone decided to harden the circuitry

    Also building codes are applying bonding to the electrical system which has the tendency to attenuate the excess current from an EMP

    wont matter if "soft" things like your smart meter or appliances control board get fried.

    every appliances have complex and vulnerable electronic control boards these days.
