In '84 I already had this screen name (x8shock because ao-hell only allowed 8-character handles) -

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad there are evidently still weirdoes out there with a passing interest in the Deep Lore, but it is weird that they seemingly exist.
Shitters like Enter just read Encyclopedia Drmastica and Urban Dictionary entries about Totse and imagine up some epic historical foundations in the deep internet or some shit
Bruh the maximum impact was a troll post about a guy huffing shit fumes lmao
And some guy changed a digital traffic sign that one time too I guess and that was on Australian news or some shit -

You people dont seem to be understanding the true charm of the old totse. It’s not about relevance in the public consciousness or societal impact or whatever. It’s like when Stephen King writes about whatever podunk shit town in Maine he’s from. Doesn’t matter where it actually is, the point is everyone has that kind of nostalgia about something or somewhere. Totse was like some small nameless midwestern town you grew up in, but on the internet. There were plenty of other places like that. But this one was ours -

He always said he was a guy and sent me a picture of him with his guitar and with a poster of a girl I knew (who later became a guy). It was just a sperg or 2 who thought that. Your just tryna mandela effect silverfuck making a post saying they were the same person. He was a little older than most of the teens on the site and he'd creep on them pretty hard. He was from Baltimore -

Even at its peak, it was never as big or great as none of you thought. It was gay and a gay internet nerd forum for gay nerds.
it was old in dialup years. its moving over to internet took time. a little under a year. 2000-2001 when fully functioning though started up in 1999.
I was banned just after 9/11 -

yeah everyone knew about that but as a "Big Whoop" as it was it started a trend in pushing for cheats against the Big Corp overcharging for services that AT&T or SBC/Ma Bell etc was charging before internet or Voip became a thing. and there was even voip over copper before DSL on basic line. most people thought it was a scam but those old VoiP kits they sold at radio shack are worth lots apparently because they allow you to set up a fake phone number for scammers or spoofing.
MagicJack and DuPhones had the PBX box built in or (however that worked) which allowed you to type in a number for the caller ID which actually faked it. I think the original use for it was if someone took it with them to Europe from USA or vice versa that they could use it in a hotel to not just make a free call but to show their home number? either way they stop building that function into the box. people still use it to this day. I keep getting them.
the black box the blue box the beige box etc etc
all of that info was on Totse
the movie The Core has DJ Qualls using that method of a Captain Crunch free call -

jeff turning off the BBS was basically the begining of the end I think what 99% of totseans grew up knowing is a shadow of what was formerly a great culture
it was his greatest mistake. Lets imagine a world where the BBS never got turned off
THE YEAR IS 2001
WE BUILT THIS CITY oh man I just got home from school time to logonto totse.net where all the old heads are talking about their BBS man I gotta log onto that one day
FAST FORWARD THE YEAR IS 2007 totse is still in decline
FAST FORWARD the year is 2012 and zoklet.org has the rights to the TOTSE BBS and decides to keep it online this causes zoklet to NEVER GO DOWN and in fact jeff hunter becomes a moderator, all the old totse people come and join zoklet IT BECOMES TOO STRONG
without groups like Lanny or Idio or Arnox being able to splinter the userbase and whittle it down there is an influx in females, people getting their friends to join. THe ice bucket challenge isn't the end of totse memes it becomes the start of a global cultural revolution
web blockers at schools all cry for TOTSE to be blocked but it's no use because all the kids are epic hackers now. DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN ARE ON THE INTERNET flyers are printed and handed out to all schools, parents install child locks in ipads but its no use. When bitcoin comes out all the best people in the world learn about it and all become the richest, instead of joining banks and becoming venture capitalist crypto scammers instead they use the technology as it was intended and become their own banks
FAST FORWARD 2020
Because of the loss of banking power, the technological literance of adults and young teens and the altering of the timelines, covid does not happen, 2020 brings prosperity, not war, global peace is starting to be whispered about, but not until some rich bitcoin baron totsean unlocks the secrets of the atomic bomb and launches it into the moon, blowing it into little pieces of dust, the world is left to wonder if this is better, could we have stopped it????
and then you shrug and order another child sex robot from the space anarchy factory because you live in the future. KNOCK KNOCK oh its a bugman working for amazon at the door with my pound of space cocaine and the year is 2024.
