Originally posted by infinityshock you spend entirely too much time with rodentia. theyre fucking rodents…not a higher life form to be hunted.
choose a perimeter that you dont want the rodents in…such as a few dozen yards from your house…then make little boxes of something rainproof big enough to accommodate a large rat trap. make enough so you can space them about 8 or 10 feet apart.
stick a few rat-poison baits inside, for bonus points use different brands and active ingredients, then the rat trap.
make more of the boxes and set them around the perimeter of your house, up against the house. also dont have any random bullshit that rats like to congregate in…like woodpiles or stacked-stuff.
then all you have to do is check the traps on occasion and clean/reset them or refill the poison baits.
NO!
I am a better rat killer than any trap I have tried and I do not use poison, traps only work occasionally, rats are very smart, it took 3 months to catch one in my glue trap and the wooden and metal traps like the one you pictured only get one or two rats from a litter and the others see there brother in said trap and stay away from them,, not to mention the ones that carry the trap off cuz it didnt kill them -

i trap squirrels in my yard and feed them to my snake. its not a reliable source of food because im in competition with the local raptors and the skwerlz dont reproduce as fast as my snake can eat them
16 gauge is for women. 12 gauge/3 1/2" magnum is what the cool kids use. however a 16 gauge is acceptable to use and maintains ones masculine dignity if it is a short-barreled pistol.
16 gage has fed my family for 3 generations,, they are collectors guns at this point and a family tradition,, 20 gage and 410 gage is a kids gun or a womans gun,, a 16 will kill without dismembering the meal and a 12 gage will rip a rabbit or squirrel in half and itl turn a quail inside out and fill a partridge full of lead shot so I disagree with you on that -

2023-12-03 at 8:09 PM UTCI am making great progress today. So far I went out to buy sugary things, watched the wheel of time, made a burger, Akira trapped me every time I went to check on her. I read a few articles in a DBT app and recorded my mood. Signed up to Gaia, did mindfulness for five minutes, a DBT worksheet, listened to meditation music and made a list of things for my manifestation mood board. So I haven't done much and now the real battle begins because I'm usually productive at night being nocturnal and have a lot to do but somehow Akira makes me sleep now. Apparently cats can make you sleepier.

yes.
you grossly exaggerate the situation. rats are not that smart...case in point you using a sticky-trap 957 times to catch a rodent that keeps escaping from it instead of changing the scenario to get a better outcome.
i had a female and its litter in the attic of a shed, outside the perimeter, where i set about 8 traps using peanut butter and wiped them all out after about two weeks. its simply a matter of attending the traps and resetting/rebaiting them when they get triggered. the draw of yummy tasty food quickly supersedes the memory of a dead sibling. and they dont even consider siblings any different than other rats. theyre not fucking savants. which is why i have dozens of traps instead of one or two...to wipe them all out. with those SS screws theyre also effective at taking out squirrels and other annoying wildlife
thats why you set up an outer perimeter that takes out the rat while theyre exploring before they settle down. -

tell some stories about how your uncles molested you
if they didnt molested you, you wouldnt have had the need to declare they didnt molest you. -

i have a 16-gauge that is hereditary from my grandfather to me, taking a side-trip to my father, but i'd only use it for plinking. female members of my household plink with it or would use it if a situation arose where they had to have a firearm
i dont hunt for food. if im shooting something i want it to cease existing and depart this plane of existence immediately, if not sooner. sometimes i even want to do it humanely. not counting the possum that i stabbed to death with a crow bar for eating one of my poor chickens while it was still alive where i had to kill it.
if i had to hunt rabbits or something small for food...id never eat a disgusting squirrel...and not use a trap, which works better...i'd use a .22 solid out of a rifle.
depending on the situation, when im removing verminous small animals i use a .357 or a 7.62x39 handloaded to fragment completely after about 10 inches and not exit, using a modified hollow point in the 7.62 or a short-barreled/hyped-up velocity in the .357.
108gr RRLP...
family portrait
i have rounds made up if i ever do go hunting for food but theyre 200-yard or less, precision, quick-expansion, for head shots. -
