i uhh... isn't it like transparently the case that bibi does not care what condition they come back in? aren't the families of the hostages specifically pissed that bibi would rather flatten gaza than bring their loved ones home? -

It's funny that hostages are what actually make Israelis furious but they don't matter at all to the government. There's gonna be some disenfranchisement there esp when military service is compulsory and they can't even fake a narrative they were called on to save their fellow personnel. They're no less fodder for their front line than Hamas' militants are for theirs -

I don't think they care. Sucks for the hostages but they have no interest in swapping prisoners or fucking around with ceasefire bullshit. They are just going in there and saying "fuck it" at this point
Just like if a cop were to shoot the hostage WHAT LEVERAGE MOTHERFUCKER! ON THE GROUND. If you only care about getting the bad guy it's a pretty good tactic
They had to spend all that manpower and vehicles kidnapping people instead of using those soldiers to fight on the front lines which puts them at a disadvantage if the other side just decides to not care about the hostages.
