A guy I hired like 4yrs ago called today "Maurice". I fired him back then because he chimped out on poor Edith.
Anyway he calls me today and says "hey, I saw you advertised a new position, would you give me another chance"
I said "As I remember Maurice we let you go because of your behavior"
He said "Yeah I was going through a lot of personal stuff back then but I'm ok now"
I said "No, we are running a business here and I've got lots of people to pick from so no, I'm not going with someone I had to fire last time"
After he hung up it occurred to me that the clown is still looking for shitty $13hr jobs 4yrs later from a place he was fired
Sure doesn't sound like he's "sorted his life out".

So Sylvester showed up at 6.55am (he was supposed to start at 7.30).
He's a gentleman of color...mid 50s I'd say...but first impressions are he's a good sort, friendly, big smiles and very uncle Tom-ish.
We'll see how he does over the next couple of days.
Edith already dislikes him before she even met him...when she came in I told her he was waiting in the break room for her and she got mad about him being here before her

Edith's concurrent displays of fire and ice are sexy. She's the essence of a woman and that's fucking hot. Sylvester is a fucking awesome name that isn't common enough. I hope Sylvester sticks it out and becomes permanent.

Smiley, friendly, good-natured negroes are so enjoyable and adorable. Big black teddy bears. They get a bad rap for scamming and everything... but it seems like whenever you meet a Nigerian guy in person they r very likable.

Maybe Jiggaboo found the right person with silly. Old school southern blacks are usually OK and don't like the young nigga crap.
Plus I misjudged Jiggaboo, he has given POC chances at this job and they have let him down. It's hard to be a good white massa in modern America these days.

You just know Sylvester's story without even asking him...a life struggling to make ends meet, seeing the good in people even as your sons and nephews get locked up for murdering your neighbors, taking joy in the little things like a fried chicken dinner or finding a blunt in the gutter etc.
I hope Edith can look passed her racism and allow Sylvester a chance at building a better life with us as his work family, one where $13hr in a permanent position could make him king of his family. Maybe he'll bring in some BBQ for us all one day because those southern Nogs sure do like makin dat BBQ.
