also BMP = IFV, BTR = APC used interchangeably -

still going on, they're treating it as a war of attrition and slowly grinding down everything and everyone. Ukraine's on their sixth mobilisation (men 16-60, no exceptions) and have virtually none of their original equipment left so they're totally reliant on western equipment and Polish/Latvian/Romanian mercs, but none of that can really counter the constant rain of artillery considering Russia's currently responsible for over half of the world's production of artillery shells and missiles -
2023-01-20 at 4:15 AM UTCThe US recently pulled a cache of 155mm shells they had stored in israel for potential ME wars to give to the Ukraine because they simply cannot produce enough for them to compete in terms of volume

Some Ukrainian troops abandon their posts to sit around a barrel fire in an abandoned apartment building, stalker style.
It looks really cozy.
The commanding officer finds out. "I'll kill you" "our men are dying" "we are faggots" "we are not faggots" "take the guns" -

ja. Minsk II.
just as useless like Minsk I.
no. political solution will be worse for all. one of the certain, direct efffect of the "political solution" will be a whiplash effect where the surge of military equipment to replenish current inventory used/lost in ukraine will create a condition of excess production capacity a few years from now once the inventory has been replenished and these new stocks will need somewhere to go,
necessitating another war. -

2023-01-20 at 2:33 PM UTCIt's sort of interesting that Ukraine haven't been able to reacquire nukes or use nuclear technology (eg. dirty bombs) against Russia.
They could probably source or scrape one together if they really tried.
What would Russia do if Ukraine had a nuke hidden somewhere in Moscow? -

dirty bombs dont have any strategic values.
what would a few contaminated towns and farms achieve. -

worth noting that Moscow's ringed by echelons of S-400s meant to deal with missiles and aircraft; PANTSIRs specialise in mobile defence and defeating drones (because 1. regular SAM radar is meant to track targets over long distances but has trouble tracking small, stealthy targets where PANTSIRs use optical and thermal tracking at short range and 2. their munitions are much cheaper). it'd be difficult to justify putting those things on rooftops just for 'general' defense; it makes more sense that they have foreknowledge of some sort of specific attack being planned against Moscow, likely using the (modified) old Soviet recon drones that hit Engels and the other airbase I forget the name of a few weeks back.
