This is true too though, when I was homeless most of the other homeless I met wouldn't go to a shelter because they were either too proud, wanted to drink/do drugs, or couldn't handle the strictness of it. I've never been to one so I can't comment on them -

"Is" is like "to be." It implies that something "is" something. Like an apple "is" red, green, yellow, or some combination of those colors. Saying apples are red is not correct because there are other colors also.
And yes, my point is that you're extrapolating an idea you could use to write a creative essay and trying to use it to definitively explain something that lives in the real world and is dependent on more variables at once than any human could comprehend. It's an overly simplistic explanation for something far more complicated. -
