Dude, just apply yourself and do something with your life. Won't really mean anything until you do.
It's a fucked up situation when you genuinely have potential, but have these multitude of massive issues you may never get over that are preventing you. Neurological disorders and major trauma. Oh man.

Let the register page check for the value of the evercookie against the DB and if it's found ban the original account for a week, ban the account that was trying to sign up forever, and for MAX PAYNE ban the IP for a week as well.
This would stop 99.5% of people from creating alts.

Having an animal companion for the first time in, god, it's literally been about 9 years now, reminded me of the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. The religion they had and how animals, even artificial ones, were seen as a crucial part of it. The aspect of empathy.
The isolation and alienation produced by advanced societies...I'm pretty sure that was part of the theme, although not the main purpose. Just something that came to mind.
It feels really nice just to have a sentient creature purring because she's happy sleeping in the same bed as you, sharing warmth, or doing the minor headbutting thing as a sign that they like you, just enjoy that physical contact.
It's a good exercise for developing empathy and compassion. Reminds me of one of the primary, and likely most beneficial, meditation exercises Matthieu Ricard described in his book on happiness. Just practicing opening yourself up and attempting to feel that emotion as deeply as possible.
