some of them do it as Atheist thinking there is no God and no Devil,but want to appease the other members and occult they're tied into who do believe in this stuff. just so they can be apart of the scene and of course Money and Fame to follow.
I'v heard stories and questioned if at least a few of the musicians who either a family member, other friend or myself personally went to public school, who became famous later, had "Sold their soul" to satan because everyone was like flashing the Devil's Horn to Metal in the day.
but not just musicians. film stars, politicians, city workers, business owners, and average guys off the street who may have had something to offer into their dark circle of trust.
In an interview, Geezer Butler claimed Ozzy came to his apartment one day with a huge, bound Satanic book with a lot of Satanic symbols on it, with ancient pages and covers. They looked at it for awhile, then Ozzy told Butler he could keep the book and go through it later. After Ozzy left, then Butler put the book in a cupboard and went to bed. In the middle of the night, Butler said he was awakened and looked at the foot of his bed to see a tall, dark shape, with red eyes like flickering fire, just standing there, looking directly at him, pointing directly at him, then it slowly vanished. He said he immediately realized it must have something to do with the book Ozzy brought, so he ran to the kitchen cupboard to grab the book and get rid of it, but the book was no longer there. He searched his apartment and it was gone. He couldn't sleep, so that very night he wrote the lyrics for Black Sabbath, their first song on their first album.
