after all the shenanigans at the ZPP you think the Ukrainian government would miss a chance to show videos of what the evil Russians did to our power stations?

it doesn't matter anyway, I never said this is what happened, I was talking about possibilities, no need to chimp 'BUT WHAT IF NOT!'

    ja. trains.

not the right example to use on people who don't believe in fairy tales.

Ukraine was using electric trains but they were largely shut down in the east after they dropped that Tochka on Kramatorsk, Russia blasted most of their rail power substations in response. Now they're using a combination of diesel freight trains and road transport for the most part

lol, Russia kalibr'd a dam causing the Ingulets river to flood and wash away all of the AFU's river crossings

It amazing how someone the user base seems to think is smart constantly wastes time and energy arguing and responding seriously with one of the weakest fail trolls since Tacho.

Yeah now that you mention it I remember that time.

A lot of places are now saying that the offensive was initially 10-12k strong and that roughly 30% (!) weren't AFU, but NATO troops. I don't know where that information originally came from but it sounds unrealistic given that only small groups have been seen in the past (there are plenty of videos of US, English and French mercs but never enough to form their own units).

If it's true it marks the unequivocal graduation from 'proxy war' to direct participation.

    - purges and executions of 'Russian collaborators' across the towns the AFU has retaken. Bank accounts have been frozen and any assets seized of any Ukrainian who's fled to Russia.

    - the Izium counteroffensive has taken huge losses, likely more than the Kherson one, but they're still holding the territory.

    - a third counteroffensive has been planned and the AFU is spreading its forces out to make it difficult to predict where, but it's almost certain to involve Zaporozhie and the ZPP nuclear plant.

The LDNR heads are reporting that they've repelled attacks all along the contact line, but given the size of them it seems more like the AFU is testing to try and find a soft spot.

They've fielded a bunch of BUKOVEL complexes which are reported to target drones and interfere with their navigation and communications systems, but there doesn't seem to be much public information about them. Given the other products the manufacturer makes it's likely they're also able to locate EM emitters like radio, cell phones and other communications devices so they can be used to guage opposing force strength in a given area.

trains rely on control centers to run without running into each other, and these control centers run on errectricity.

it seemed to me more like you were painting the probablity that those power stations were struck by the russians.

    PR and morale, duh

doesnt quite fit the purpose well. bombing civillian infrastructure sounds like cowardy scummy move the russians said they were not going to do and then now they are announcing they are doing the scummy thing they said they werent going to do isnt just bad optics but more of a tacit admission of desparity.

its state sponsored terrorism by any other name. bad for PR, worse for morale.

they need to move civillians conscripts and donated hardware from all western corners of ukraine to the eastern front, and trains need a lot of other support infrastructures that run on electricity.

theyre probably just remnants of foreign volunteers and reddit batalions led by spec ops from nato countries.

if you remember the chart of foreign legions released by russian MOD there were like 5k left the last time i remember.

Yeah cuz the russians need to make sure their military supply trains do not interfere with the passenger and commercial freight trains that still running like clockwork throughout the entire region.

Trains are still working in the entire area.

Dunno. Probably above normal, since fuel is hard to get and civil aviation is cancelled.

Ukraine winning hearts and minds by splattering those hearts and minds all over the place, shelling a market in Donetsk city.

It's insane that the red army still haven't secured Donbass province yet.

It's a very "special" military operation.
