Doug is the biggest douchebag in military history.

His name is Doug. In 1983, he was a Lieutenant and a pilot in a Marine helicopter squadron.
One night, in the ready room, he sat down next to one of his crew chiefs, a young Sergeant, and asked him “Hey (nickname), just between you and me, did you…..?”
And since it was “just between the two of them” and trusting a Marine officer at his word, this young Sergeant told him “Yeah, I did.”
The next day this douche bag put the young Sergeant on report, something the Sergeant thought would cost him his stripes for sure. Luckily for the young Sergeant, the CO really liked him (a year earlier he had put him up for a Meritorious Promotion Board despite his only being a Corporal for about a month - the then Corporal aced the board and was promoted to Sergeant while on deployment, having spent about 90 days as an E-4). The Boss let this young Sergeant off with an mild ass chewing and a $200 fine.
Now, other people might try to tell you different, but listen to the Old Sarge when he tells you that Doug is the biggest douche bag in military history.
I still hope I run into that SOB one of these days.

I'm calling the bullshit flag.
I've been in squadrons before and for an E5 / crew chief to tell something to an O2 that openly (meaning it couldn't be that severe)...then for the O2 to make an official issue of it resulting in disciplinary action...that would have resulted in...literally...that O2 requesting an xfer out of the command due to everyone fucking his shit up at best...at a worst sending his bird into a tailspin with the safeties on the ejector seats left in.
also...wtf is an E5 crew chief doing sitting in the ready room? squadron ready rooms are Os only. the mechs aren't even allowed out of the maintenance areas

not that much. fragging is very much a clear and obvious reminder for Os to not excessively piss off Es. -
