[daylong jump-start that nome]
When I accidently jumped off a 25 foot retaining wall it was pitch black and I thought it was but a drop of maybe a few feet. I was trying to hide from cops and the side I went over was only a few feet so how could the side I would land on be any further? Very clearly I remember it was low enough I pretty much sat on it and spun my legs over the top and hopped off into the abyss. A mere moment of confusion hit me unlike the ground I was expecting and then as the wind kept getting faster and faster I knew I fucked up and the last fucking thing I was thinking about was the fact I was falling. All that ran through my mind was "wonder what the fuck I jumped off of" Then instinctively I somehow turned my body in the air so my dominant side was toward the ground and next thing I know I'm not falling anymore. It didn't hurt at all but maybe I was just stunned. My only concern was getting back up to keep going and that's when it hurt. Realizing I was probably a little fucked I began to assess my situation and try to gauge what was hurt and how bad. Long story short I didn't move much for a good long while but what I learned was jumping from high up doesn't hurt at all. When you hit the ground, if you are even still alive you'll probably be stunned like I was and not even aware of any pain what so ever. Hopefully whatever you jump from is high enough to kill you though because if you live and when it comes time to move you'll be in pain so bad that you scream whether you want to or not.
Don't land feet first unless you want your leg bones coming through your torso.

I did that recently. Walked off what I thought was a curb was a 5 foot drop. Landed 1 knee into the pavement, to stand up and see a truck coming at me. It was dark a group of step roads that are like switchbacks.
I just walked it off. Stunned but embarrassed. It was lit were I was walking but pitch black on the drop
