Anyway, since Ukraine has practically no Armor left, and i don't see the hundreds of 1970's eras German tanks arriving or be combat ready if and when they do arrive any time soon. And is basically lacking in everything except for warm bodies. Who as i understand it are almost all on the front-line in the East Donbas and lest we forget AzovStahl is no more(Sieg Heil to the great Nazi Party in the sky). F's in the chat. what is the prognoses for the armed forces of Ukraine and Ukraine more generally?
An important thing to note is that Phase 1 of the Russian invasion from the East was conceived to be a Bltzkrieg style operation. Why is that important to note? Well that's not normal Russian Doctrine. It was ill conceived when you take into account the composition of the Russian army and the fact that it's forces for the longest time were following another Doctrine.
Generally speaking the effective and lethal Doctrine that Russia opted out of for Phase 1 is based on long ranged and very long ranged artillery, self propelled and otherwise supported by ground forces. These ground forces are mostly tanks, that themselves are supported by mechanized infantry. Artillery does most of the firing, while the support units serve as a defensive vanguard of sorts.
As i understand it that's how Russian Doctrine works and it works well. They made the switch back to this original Doctrine relatively recently for Phase 2 of combat operations. This for sure will have an impact at the strategic and operational levels.
Also fun fact, you can't hit even a Soviet Era BM-27 Hurricane with modern anti tank/vehicle munitions simply because it's going to be out of range. You can't even see them on the horizon with an effective range up to 40 kilometers, and maximum range of 90. Not to mention the modern Uragan-1M variants.
If Ukranian forces had those types of munitions left, i hear they burned through all of them rather quickly in the opening weeks of the war. If you're America having 1000 fire and forget disposable weapons systems is no problem because you have 10000 more ready to deploy if not 50k. Ukraine is not America, not even close.
