I think western powers knew it would be too late by thr time the lethal aid arrived and expected it to be arming the counter insurgency by thr time it gets there. Look for lviv to be the western hub of Ukraine and pretty much everything east of there to be downright mad maxian.
There are alot of warning articles about the Russian exit from the world economy having disastrous consequences too. After all the covid bulkshit and inflation getting out of hand, this is the last thing the world economy needs
Russia is definitely in the wrong to invade Ukraine but its textbook orwellian to have people struggling domestically and blaming a far away enemy, who's people are also struggling. The people who will be fine are the people who make the decisions and pay their dues.
