I've got J's from the early 90's still structurally perfect then some from 5 years ago already failing. -

That goes for more than just shoes. Everything now seems purposefully designed to fail/break faster so you spend more money on another one. -

The reason for this is landfills. The Plastics made today only take 2-3 years to break down in soil and will start breaking down above ground in around 7-10 years. everything is design as to not take 200 years to break down that plastics 30 plus years back were doing. -
