NATO has officially, and now in writing, refused the proposal that Russia had put forward where they essentially demanded that NATO respect their previous (verbal, which is why Russia is demanding official responses in writing) agreement to stay out of the ex-soviet states bordering Russia, at the very least to withdraw strategic weapons.

Putin and Lavrov have both said that a refusal would result in 'military-technical measures' to redress the balance of power (apparently the phrase 'you can choose to talk to Lavrov or you can choose to talk to Shoigu' has become a meme in Russian MSM), but haven't even hinted at what that might involve.

    Iskanders to the LDPR rebels?
ZIRCON/ONYX and BASTION units to China to be deployed in the SCS?
Top of the line SAMs to Iran?

Something more direct, like ECM harassment anywhere near their borders?
    Cyber attacks or information warfare?
Reveal that the BELGOROD and POSEIDON drones are already in service, and prowling around the US' east coast?

In terms of practical effect, finding a way to disrupt the relationship between the US and EU would be among the most effective options, but I think this response will mostly be military, not economic.

Might make a thread if anyone else is interested.

They need marioupol. It was a travesty they didnt get it in the first few surges especially after the Ukranian army deserted it and left the azov battalion as it's only defenders. Would be a shame to lay waste to such a cool old city though.

NATOs crown jediels are the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania for everything except western geopolitical strategy. They run war games every year in one of them as a direct provocation and those countries are horribly corrupt shitholes which literally encourage CP sites being hosted from their home servers (forget which one specifically for all intents and purposes encourages it).

They flummox Russia because they wrote them off as irrelevant but all turned out almost identical to how Poland did in the post soviet Era. They just need to realize they are only useful to the west as NATO proxies and have no chance of real integration. They should turn east and embrace their past before they become isolated and disillusioned

“The biggest contribution that Canada can make to Ukraine right now is people,” claimed Defense Minister Anita Anand, who revealed that the country had “trained over 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers.”

I don't get it. Not just Canada, but this is a good example - what does Canada have to teach Ukrainians about fighting Russia? The only wars they've participated in in the last 50 years have been the US' gay international policing efforts and they haven't even done particularly well there. They haven't faced anything like a peer military or a threat to their homeland.

I can understand foreigners training the Ukrainians on how to use new, complex weapons systems but this is ridiculous

Maybe because they've never fought a war on mooseback before?

    left right left
We all fall down like toy soldiers
Bit by bit, torn apart, we never win
But the cold war rages on for toy soldiers

We fucked up da taliban using SUPERIOR CONVERSATIONAL SKILLS and being open to new cultures and instead of raping and murdering women and children we have made brothers and sisters with the islamic world much like the jedi Venetian traders of old who used their connections in the middle east with arabs to facilitate the west african slave trade and slave industry boom.

I'm pretty sure Ukraine didn't see any combat in da middle east so we are gonna shape those boys up and derust them into a fighting force against the damn dirty Vladamir Poutine
  9. Ukraine isn't going to happen anytime soon. China asked Putin to wait till after the Winter Olympics so as not to take attention away from them...and being best buds Putin will comply.

Check back in 3 or 4 weeks.

Ukrainians are a huge voting block in western Canada eg. Obbe. Trudeau has disenfranchised much of western Canada and thinks this is a cynical ploy to appease them. Canada has been funding "pro democracy" movements in Ukraine since around the year 2000.

for all the media hysteria, they're always careful never to ask WHY Russia would want to invade the Ukraine in the first place.

also kind of funny that this 'China asks Russia to tone it down' narrative is getting popular right after Blinkin called China to tell them to get Russia under control, and the Chinese diplomats told him to get fucked

  16. Deleted tweet from a CNN journalist. Yanks fantasise and panic and work themselves into a tizzy about certain Russian invasion, while literally everyone else tries desperately to talk sense into them.

The yanks are utterly paranoid, deranged and dangerous. They live in a parallel world.

Let's be honest Sergei Lavrov is a better secretary of state than any US one I can think of for a while. Madeline Albright was decent but honestly alot more evil than Lavrov
