In November 2006, 81 year old Lafayette (CA) resident Louise Clark and her husband, Johnson Clark began putting hand made painted white crosses on their property above Deer Hill Road, close to the BART public transportation station and Highway 24. The crosses symbolize American soldiers killed in the Iraq war and are accompanied by a sign painted with the current number of U.S. deaths. There are currently more than 500 crosses, as well as a handful of Islamic crescents and Jewish stars. Some members of the community have felt that the memorial was disrespectful. On November 14, 2006, Jean Bonodio kicked the wooden sign until it was completely broken. A new sign was made and on Dec 21, 2006, it was blacked out with paint. The Clarks have chosen not to press charges against the vandals. -

I mean, yeah. in that context of not knowing the story behind it sounds like this. Thats what Jeff Hunter did to me, when the Dialup went to the world wide web version and it felt like it was completely different. so, yeah.. He called me out on it when I repetitivly pointed out how it was different and I didn't like it as much. but my addiction to forum'n kept me from leaving. Kind of like here I guess.

it has like close to 8000 of them now. still there. they keep them in good condition too.
You can see them when you drive along highway 24 or when on BART.
deer hill is kind of a secret side-road to take when 24 is backed up however everyone uses it now as well. pisses off the neighbors. cause they're all Entitled to their own space n stuff. -

the weird thing was there was totse the dialup which was locals and I wasn't a regular so much but I was a semi-stop by and chat, learn new computer stuff in the early mid 90s and we had some good chats and I should have honestly stuck with maybe learning coding as was suggested. But I was also into my music and learning and layering synth vibes and recording stuff more than I was interested in the computer.
it wasn't really until maybe 1998-99 or 2000 after we got broadband that things got more interesting. and then the world wide web version of totse came out. and I had typed it in just when Jeff was moving everything over to it. So I got in early late 1999 when it wasn't much of a page but then 2000 most stuff was transfered over onto this html version. but everyone then was already over on the Html version
then there was the Greenspam vs Digital Avatar "Fight" that got us both kicked off and all the dialup fucks where telling Jeff not to let me on the world wide web. so Jeff would bounce in on his chat-bot box and talk to me about "maybe you should change your name and not log back on with your original name" which was Greenspam.
everything was mostly the same at first but once people around the globe found it, it lost its original vibe. then the 9/11 manifesto thread occured. no one took it serious because it came out around the John Titor was going on. a sort of AMA kind of vibe.
then 9/11 happened , the place locked down for a few hours, the feds came (or so Jeff stated.. they were there taking hard drives away and that I shouldn't tell him he should of told them about 9/11 in the first place or the group claiming they would strike the US months earlier. so clearly the feds already saw the Manifesto if they were there that very day.
then Jeff got more and more agitated with me and told me if I didn't stop bugging him, he would make sure I wouldn't be able to find a job again.
