I found his site called Electric Chicken (or some weird name like that) which is kind of cool (I give him credit for the design) where you simulate a telnet dialup BBS login.
I was able to create an account and look at many conversations he had with another NirvanaNet board Admin named Poindexter Fortran.
Poindexter lived very close to where I am now. In Northwest Berkeley/El Cerrito/Albany (They all come together on the old highway San Pablo Avenue)
anyways, he clearly has some ties with the group but he sounded more like he wasn't very active in much of it. he has since made the site to look like it's down for the time.
I found it by researching someone else and saw Spec and poindexter conversation. that's how I found out about his BBS. I was looking up NirvanaNet and saw Poindexter ran it in a small town called Albany which used to be North West Berkeley or Anix into it.
tl;dr
NIS is a iteration of totse.com which one of the members name Zok picked up where the Original Admin of totse (JEFF HUNTER) and names his site Zoklet. I only had been on it for maybe a month and moved on.
then one of Zoks users (Lanny) created this site. however there was another site. totse2 and totsean and rdfrn before Lanny created this board. it will probably be the last. -
