the water spray is to cool the launch pad to keep it from melting. the US has the same system. generally speaking -
2017-04-18 at 10:30 AM UTCfact is the elite are the ones with their fingers on the buttons. and they love the money and super-rich lifestyle way too much to fuck it up. this is true for putin, trump, chinese, euros. ain't none of them fuckers jumping on kim jungs wacko agenda. if he kicks off the world will aim at him and wipe his weird little shithole off the map before he can do shit with his backward technology.

2017-04-18 at 10:39 AM UTCI was digging into what little information there is on NK's military hardware earlier, it seems that of what IS known, their gear is not exactly high-tech but effective nonetheless. Because of the crippling sanctions they haven't been able to import much of anything; the majority of their small arms and vehicles are their own designs based on Soviet gear or other plans they could get their hands on.
They definitely have SAMs capable of keeping out modern bombers and long range artillery capable of pounding a target anywhere on the island, but I don't think they have anything that'll effectively stop a fusillade of cruise missiles like the US recently dumped on Syria (missile ships can easily outrange artillery). -

it's not about money or lifestyle...but you're close when you said 'finger on the button'...it's about control.

conventional, they have a lot of manpower. if they storm south korea, those people are fucked. even with American forces there. It will be the bloodiest war in decades. Worst than the Iraqi wars put together. Not to negate how much was done in 14 years over there but these guys have lots of mountains and trees to dig into when they get over the border. China is way far to the north so it's a long term commitment for them. if this guy flips out and crosses the 38th it's in for the long run. another decade at least. I dont think the USA can spread itself thinly. we need to stop policing shit and tell South Korea its on it's own. But share holders in Samsung wouldn't like this so I guess we're stuck policing them. -
