the parallel in the west would be if the US constitution explicitly forbade nuclear weapons, or at least that their Mullahs (the Supreme Court) ruled that the manufacture of nuclear weapons was unconstitutional. -

much of China's geopolitical power comes from international trade, so of course it makes perfect sense that they'd cut it off. they hate our raw materials (coal, steel etc.) so much that they'll nuke us and torpedo any container ships that dare to transport materials to them.
