   a single large, wild rat will consume a piece of flesh about three square inches in a day...give or take.

The body can take a remarkable amount of mortal damage and still keep right on going, if simple shock doesn't kill it first; many people every day get shot several times, some as many as 5 or 10 times, and they're still alive today. But if you stand there like an idiot and put your hands up to block the bullets, the first shot's going to be straight to the head, and it will probably only take the one shot to kill you doing it that way. Always take some kind of action if someone has a gun pointed at you. Personally, if I was that guy and living where guns are legal, I would have ducked and drawn my own weapon, whether he had a bead on me already or not. There's really no telling where those bullets will actually end up, and how deadly each one will be, unless you play the deer-in-the-headlights fool.

    grab barrel and with your palm or fist, you hit the wrist holding the gun while grabbing the barrel with the other hand in one single motion. this will usually cause the gun to be let go or drop out of his hand. you can also kick him under his sternum at the same time or right afterwards. if successful, problem solved. no one HAS to die.

    Why can't you grab a glock .. if the barrel is apart of the frame of the gun (Too short?), just brushing it to the left while giving a massive tap on the wrist could at best drop the weapon out of his hand, you then kick the weapon away and run like fucking hell or fight the fucking person. You're right, I'm not a gun person. It's just some advice that has some percentage of working over not working; if done right.

    a 'normal' semiautomatic pistol can be broken down to the slide assembly, which includes the slide and barrel, and the reciever, or technically the 'frame' as you call it, which includes the grip, firing pin assy, etc. I'm guessing when you use the term 'barrel' you meant slide. the barrel is surrounded by the slide...either fully or partially, the way tauraus/beretta does. old german guns and stuff don't count.
    
    and...a trigger finger moving a fraction of an inch is always faster than a hand moving several feet. meaning...it's more likely the gun-wielder will shoot the person trying not to get shot.

    most semi-autos wont fire if the slide can be pushed back slightly...opening the chamber. it's called 'out of battery.' a gun firing out of battery causes really bad things to happen.
