2021-10-21 at 7:19 PM UTCI'm normally the same way. I usually want to keep savory separate from sweet, but some combinations do work.

I'v only been to NOLA once. Early-mid 80s. I vaguely remember the big graveyards above ground (because NOLA is like 10 feet below sea level?) and the french quarter but not going in. seeing those balcony buildings some blocks away.
We didn't get to eat there. we had to move on. but I got out of the truck for a moment. it sprinkled outside and cloudy. I stepped out of the truck we were in to get fresh air and the heat hit you like walking into a sauna. it was the grossest weather I ever felt. you could barely breath. I don't understand the attraction there. maybe it's worth going in Feb on Fat Tuesday (or whever its held) but summers or late spring is nasty as fuck. it has a creepy vibe about it. sorry to offend anyone from there but parts of San Francisco has that same vibe. maybe it's an evil gridline thing. -
