I just have a really stupid form of insomnia or something. Basically it is almost impossible for me to go to sleep before I went to sleep yesterday. If I go to sleep at 11PM one night, I cannot sleep at 10:30 the next. Doesn't matter what I do, I will just languish in a semi conscious sleep-hallucinatory stupor. If I wake up again after that and try to go back to sleep, my shit is fucked. I will sleep at 4AM. -

I know that feeling. No sleep gang. I stay up way past time when I should be sleeping and when I do fall asleep I wake up at least 3 or 4 times in between the time I want to wake up. I either wake up because of strange dreams, noises from the neighbor, need a drink of water or need to use the bathroom. That's life though. -

Yeah I always wake up from bizarre dreams, can fall asleep but not stay asleep. -

You know how I mentioned the earlier weird semi sleep hallucination thing? It's like either a worse version of lucid dreaming, or since I'm more conscious than in a dream, I notice the "gaps" I would miss if I was fully sleeping. Like I realized can't actually fully form a faces en masse in my head because as I've spent more time in this state and researched more scientific literature about the neuroscience of consciousness, I've realized that the actual mental "pictures" we form are these very strange, hazy things that are actually implications of the associations we have with those pictures.
It's almost like you form the "concept" of a face or whatever in a visual way and when you are just hallucinating that shit in your head, it is generated as this weird output of the reverse operation of your brain's visual integration and facial recognition algorithms, where it just shits back out everything you built up about "recognising" that person or thing.
So you can have the experience of imagining seeing their face by barely passing a certain threshold of recognition when it is bounced back around into your brain's facial recognition algorithms again.
But sometimes either while trying to go to bed before my biorhythm or whatever decides it's actually time to start going to sleep, I have that pre-sleep-paralysis hallucinatory type state and it carries right into the actual sleep portion and I just have retarded creepy dreams because everything is full of holes and weirdly cobbled together when it is all sewn up in real time in your head.
Sometimes during normal sleeps I will also wake up due to strange ass dreams then realize I am sorta feeling the need to piss, but I am too sleepy to go so I hold it and it just pulls me to the level of awareness where I start having the same kind of strange hallucs. -

Thanks for posting this, very interesting to hear that you have very similar takes on dreams that I have and experience some of the things that I do. I don't really have a good way to put into words on how I feel about dreams, its always a surprise and I don't always remember all of them. Lots of them can be very vivid and bizarre and always makes me wonder, why? -

both of you should sleep together and see what wonderfully wonderful dreams that come out of it. -
2021-10-21 at 12:37 AM UTCWhen I wake up, early…I’m able to direct myself in scenarios…that are more stable.
